Property summary
The house make 13.50 x 5.50 meters, with two levels. The wood is old "chene" from an historic monument: Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris. It's rebuild because the old one has burnt out. The advantage of this wood is that she doen't shrink anymore and in the new constructioon we have solved the problem of the horizontal pieces of wood which suffer from humidity. The old one was 17 meters long, along the road, that's why we call it "longere " here, you don't risk to be awakened from the noise of traffic of the little departmental road, it's rather the running water in winter, just after the rain, wich is noticeable in this total silence even being some 80 meters away. The land is enough if you don't want to pass your weekend cutting the grass, it's level, you don't have to run after your ball down the hill, no risk for the children. There is plenty of big trees, something wich makes a difference when madame wants to sit under and smoke a cigar (why not?)(Cohiba Lancero is a good choise). To grow up a tree you need time, and that's not for sale...The apple you see in a pictured hasn't been treated and tasted very well! like the "mures" "framboises" and the "woodnuts" and "cerises"(bigarreau napoleon, the very best, yellow & red). We had to let rooten the little appples, they are good to make calvados, but it's something you have to negociate down there. There is a beautiful place to read next to the river, you follow the pictures. The neighbours are very nice, from the nearby town, they will move down there when they retired. The idea is to build a first floor with the bedrooms, they could be four or three with a big bathroom. At the ground floor the idea is to leave a big living space, with the kitchen and a toilet with shower on the east side. All this considerations are the result of experience, we have a house there and we know what we need, in some things you may differ but, anyway we keep half of the land with a little (4.5 x 8.50) stable wich will became a house and we'll look at the nice one next door...(what if we sale the little one??)(enough! we have to sale) Next to the house is the old chimmey wich should be cutted and there has to be buid the oven with drier for the fruits. The rain come from the rear of the house, so the windows are never open. Being 5.50 meters wide there is allways natural light, the wide houses may "fonction" like say the architects, but when it 's raining is nice to leave the big doors open to the south (never buy a house orientated differently) while you do the cooking at the chimmey, architects are bad cookers, it's well known! When the house burnt out (we loan it to some one...) we had the choise to do a modern one plenty of cement of to do something like the old construction. We visited a big builder and when we were leaving i saw an old wood, it loked bad, plenty of nails, and I asked what was it for, and he told me was for himself, because is too expensive to take away all the nails, etc. So, I wanted to have an colombage house like the one of the builder (the builders are the only ones with houses like that, the one who made my house took the rest of my wood and made his new house with, it's been planted in 1400 cutted in 1600 and is drying ever since). T he property is limited by a little river, La Sommaire, is very small, good to take a nap next to in sommer time. We have well in the property next to the river, it would be nice to collect this water and leave some ducks to be our neighbours. We are a 143 kms of Paris center, 80 kms from Deauville-Trouville, 6 kilometers from l'Aigle, where is a regional hospital, the supermarket is at the entrance of tonw, all like the enourmous swmming pool with the 18 meters high tobogan. 4 kms away you can make one hour of horse for 8 Euros (used to be 30 francs, my daughter doen't do it anymore).
