The Surrounding Area:
The tranquil, green hills of this region dotted with old churches and castles present the quintessential image of rural france. There is something for everyone here, beautiful countryside for walking, rambling, riding. Many rivers and lakes for fishing, sailing, and kayaking. Some of the most beautiful views of France are found in this region.
The nearest town, Confolens (15 minutes away) is famous in the region for its 6 day music festival in August, bright and colourful, loud and alive with music from all around the world. This friendly town has everything you could need, a good secondary school, hospital, banks, garages, supermarkets, bakers, butchers and every Saturday the weekly farmers market is a must if you are looking to buy homegrown! You can get everything here fresh fruit, vegetables, local honey, herbs, wine and lots of different meats and cheese (You can even get cheddar from the english farmer, if you just can’t live without it!)
Only 30 minutes from Limoges Airport, (good connections to Uk). 40 minutes from Limoges town centre, with shops big and small to suit everyone, quaint cafes, museums and galleries. 3 hours by train to Paris.
