Morillon Les Esserts in Winter
Morillon Les Esserts is situated on a high plateau above the traditional Savoyard village of Morillon. It is part of the Grand Massif ski area with 265 kms of skiing. This links the resorts of Morillon, Samoens, Flaine, Le Carroz and Sixt. The ski area is perfectly linked with 4, 6, and even 8 seater chair lifts and high speed gondolas. With something for everyone, skiers, boarders and children are well catered for. There is extensive off piste for the experts, three state-of-the-art terrain parks for boarders, and the breathtaking 14 km Cascade blue run, from Flaine down to Sixt. 90 km of prepared cross-country trails and snow shoe walks. 128 snow cannons ensure good conditions from December to April.
The Giffre Valley and the surrounding mountains lie in a natural reservation area so it is beautifully natural and unspoilt. The mountains, river and lakes provide a host of activities in the summer. Mountain biking, cycling, walking, riding, golf, climbing, canyoning, canoeing, rafting, parapenting, via ferrata. With both lakes, river and mountains all in one place it is a superb area for mixed activity holidays where all the specialised tuition is on hand for children and adults.
Shops and restaurants
Restaurants, supermarkets, cash points and shops are situated both at Morillon Les Esserts and in Morillon. Samoens, which is close by, also has a further variety of shops and there are weekly markets in both villages
The location is excellent being one of the nearest ski resorts to Geneva airport only just over an hour away. Easy Jet flights makes it very accessible. It is also easily accessible by train at Cluses only 20 mins away, and road being an easy 8 hours drive from Calais.
