The Nièvre is a little-known district of central Burgundy, characterised by alternating woods and cattle pastures. At the heart of the hamlet of Vitry-Laché, the old clergy house has become a charming country house. Frances, who knows a thing or two about interior design, has decorated it with taste and has created a specific atmosphere in each room. So the huge kitchen-cum-dining room has cupboards painted in shades of red, the cosy lounge has its wood-burning stove and there is another room with a sofa and table and chairs. The three guest rooms upstairs are prettily furnished with country-style furniture in soft hues. They share two bathrooms. In the attic are two more bedrooms and a bathroom. The building is next to the church (now disused) and is surrounded by a large garden with an orchard, from where there are spectacular views of the surrounding hills.
