"Les Marguerites" is a traditional French farmhouse built over 150 years ago from local tuffeau stone. It is located in the tranquil and charming farming village of Les Hautes Bordes, in the heart of beautiful Touraine countryside in the Loire Valley, within the Indre-et-Loire region of France.
Just 3km away is the village of St Hippolyte with restaurant and bakery. The stunning medieval market town of Loches with its numerous restaurants, shops and markets is only 12km away. The property has approximately 3.5 hectares of land, including fields and an old vineyard in the surrounding village area. It can sleep up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms and comes complete with its own private pool and gardens. It is the perfect retreat for one or two families to enjoy the peace and tranquillity, beautiful location and yet still have the conveniences of shops, restaurants and sites of classic Loire cultural heritage nearby. It is also a perfect place from which to visit the many chateaux of the area as well as the Brenne national park. It is ideal for one or two families to holiday in or can easily be used as a permanent residence.
Downstairs there is a newly fitted kitchen/diner leading onto a terrace, a lounge with feature bread oven, two double bedrooms, one twin bunkroom and a bath/shower room. Upstairs there is one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a bath/shower room. Outside there are gardens, a private pool and barbeque. It is very private with a large courtyard at the front of the house with plenty of room to park several cars. There are a few out-buildings which could possibly be suitable for conversion into further living space. It has oil-fired central heating as well as solid fuel (wood) with a wood burner in the lounge which is very effective for cooler nights.
We are a British family of four and we have been holidaying in "Les Marguerites" several times a year for the last 14 years with extended family and friends and have had great pleasure and enjoyment from being there. We have also successfully rented the property to paying holiday makers over the years. We are sure that new owners of the property will get as much enjoyment from it as we have.
