The area remains unknown to many, I rather like it like that, but has been described by the gardener Monty Don as 'the real France'. The director of Batiment du France, (English heritage- national trust equivelent) was amazed by its history, natural beauty and incredible buildings and could not understand why more French have no idea where we are. The stonemasons from this area re-built Paris after the revolution.
