I bought this property 14 years ago and during that time I have, amongst other things and money available, brought the property to a point where it is now a blank canvas for someone to finish. Unfortunately due to other reasons I cannot continue with this renovation and with great sadness I am selling it.
I'd like to set out and explain how I wanted this property to look like once finished, but obviously everyone is different and can look at a property and see their own vision.
Most of the large construction tasks have been carried out on this property.
The original roof, tiles and rotten timbers has been removed and a new roof throughout has been installed.
The original earth floor has been removed and new damped proof, insulated and reinforced concrete floor has been installed throughout the property.
During the construction of the concrete floor drainage was installed and 2 connection points for toilets, bathrooms and kitchen waste water. One installed in the ground floor room of the adjoining house, this is for the proposed kitchen area and then the waste water pipe can be continued up to the room above the kitchen for a proposed bedroom with en suite can be installed. The second connection point is in the corner of the barn area where a proposed downstairs cloak/shower room could be installed, the connection could then continue up to a proposed family bathroom on a installed 1st floor.
My vision for this property was to install the kitchen in the ground floor room of the house and add a 1st floor in the end of the barn where the house joins the barn and create another 2 upstairs bedrooms and a family bathroom. There will then be 3 bedrooms one with an en suite. At the other end of the barn I wanted to install a mezzanine level and a window that overlooks out towards the medieval church. Underneath the mezzanine level I wanted to build a stone fireplace (the stone is there ready for construction) with a large wood burner.
The rest of the barn area to become a large open plan dining and lounge area with the large barn door removed and glass with a door installed to bring more light into the barn. With all this in mind to install a window in the upstairs Bedroom with en suite of the house, add a window where there is a door way at the end of the barn on the ground floor and 2 more windows where there is openings for short doors. Demolish the small roof on the small lean to construction at the very end of the barn. This will add light into that end of the barn. Also to add 3 velux windows in the roof for the 2 upstairs bedrooms and the family bathroom. There are 2 velux windows ready to be installed at the property. A 3m stone arch has been installed to link the house to the barn. The water main is connected to the house and the electric main is also connected to the house.
