Un Peu d'Histoire: In the Middle ages there were 7 Fiefdoms [kingdoms] in the Parishes of Le Lorey and Camprond all owing allegiance to the Baron of Marigny.
Enguerrand of Camprond,Lord of the Manoirs of Le Lorey and Camprond took part in the Crusade with Robert Shorthose Duke of Normandy and son of William the Conqueror. Later in the 16th Century, the Luzerne family succeeded the Camprond family and in the 17th Century Le Lorey and Camprond became two distinct Fiefdoms. Le Lorey remained in the ownership of the La Luzerne family until 1710, the year in which Fraslin of Moncel, a privateer from Granville, recently enobled by King Louis X1v in return for financial aid and became Lord of Le Lorey until the French Revolution in 1783.
