Sitting Room
The 18m sq m parquet floored sitting room is entered through glass-panelled double doors. The fireplace is surrounded by a marble mantle-piece and the ceiling retains its original plaster mouldings. The window looks out across the River Creuse to the steep wooded valleyside beyond.
Kitchen - Dining Room
The hall also leads into the 24 sq.m large extended, kitchen/dining room with tiled floor.
Originally an open courtyard, the new extended room has been roofed over and insulated with large double-glazed velux windows to create a light open kitchen/dining room with a large double-glazed door opening onto the terrace and a connection to the adjacent cottage.
A 9kw Petit Godin woodburner stands in the corner of the room and is an alternative or back-up to the efficient gas fired central heating and radiators distributed throughout the house.
The kitchen is supplied with a mains connected gas cooker, an attractive oak dresser and a corner cupboard. There is a medium-sized fridge/freezer, microwave and plumbed in washing machine.

OUTSIDE
The very attractive granite-paved terrace leads up steps into the gently sloping 700 metre square orchard garden with 4 large grassed terraces overlooking the valley, woods and fields beyond.
Cottage- For Restoration -
A small cottage (24 sq.m) is connected to the house and is currently used as a store for wood and garden furniture. It has 2 floors and an attic above.
The ground floor woodstore can be entered from the house kitchen and from terrace. The first floor and attic are entered from the garden.
The cottage has a large ground floor room (c. 5M by 3m) with a recently damp-proofed concrete floor. The only problem is the ceiling is low (just over 2m) as it was probably a byre for animals. However, part of this ground floor room could be converted into a shower/bathroom with a spiral staircase up to the rooms above, which have normal height ceilings, the wall between the two rooms is a partition wall and could be removed to make one decent sized bedroom, with front windows overlooking the granite terrace and a glazed door on the other side leading to the garden.
