Property summary
A 19th century property comprising over 3 ha, including almost 7,000 m² of land zoned for building, a typical Landes house and its swimming pool. On the outskirts of the village, in the middle of parklands enclosed by wooden fences, the wrought iron entrance gate framed by two stone pillars provides access to a driveway lined with centuries-old olive trees leading from the north to the residence. The driveway then splits to surround a geometrically shaped stone pool,
behind which stands the rectangular house, featuring warm-coloured, rendered facades, sober decorative features and a pavilion roof of monk-and-nun tiles. Two storeys high, with moulded limestone stringcourses echoing the overhanging cornice, the edifice is remarkable for its raised division lines and the symmetry of its ten bays, arranged evenly on the main facade to the north and the opposite facade to the south.
Further south, two blocks of buildings can be made out. The first comprises a Landes house, with two inhabitable rooms and a third that could be converted, a garage, a wine cellar, the pool house and a geothermal heating area, as well as a lean-to where the current inhabitants store large quantities of firewood. The second is a wooden building with a shower room and games area, as well as a terrace, also of wood, that surrounds the swimming pool. Having once belonged to Gascony resin-traders, the property was renovated between 2006 and 2008 by its former inhabitants, in keeping with the architecture and noble materials that define and enliven the property.
To the north, a main road borders the grounds of approx. 2 ha, well away from the house. To the south, below the property, the Landes de Gascogne Nature Park stretches out as far as the eye can see.
