The estate is located in a commune whose space has been occupied for a long time by old civilizations where the druids, according to legend, used to meet in this place of convergence of telluric and cosmic forces (hence the presence of a dolmen). The castle was built in the 14th century, but remodeled in the 16th, 17th and 19th centuries. It consists of a large main building with two corner towers and a tower with a molded stump. Parts of the property are listed: part of the walls and roof of the main building, the staircase, and the interior of the south-east tower, the dovecote with its roof covered with chestnut shingles). The castle has been completely restored (except for 4 rooms in the attic) with art and authenticity.
The ground floor includes a living room of 50 m² with monumental fireplace and stone pavement, another reception room with oak flooring, a billiard room, a library, a large dining room with terracotta paving (parefeuille de Provence) and a kitchen combining the charm of the past with today's modernity. Nb: the South-East tower used to hold a chapel.
First floor (accessed by a stone staircase): eight rooms with bathrooms and toilets, a reading room and a boudoir in a tower.
Second floor (accessed by a stone staircase): two large rooms which have been renovated very recently, and which could serve several purposes : they could be used as a gym, home cinema, seminar room, children's dormitories, etc. ..
Observations for the castle:
- electricity meets current standards,
- central heating with oil for all renovated rooms,
- structurally in good condition, including the roof,
- interior decoration of very good taste, realized recently with excellent materials.
- a caretaker's house, habitable,
- a house in need of renovation, but whose structural work is in good condition,
- a shed, a garage,
- farm buildings with barns and a house in moderate condition.
Approx. 14.5 ha, partly surrounded by stone walls in good condition. On the northern side, the entrance to the chateau's backyard is via a sleeping bridge (adorned with an 18th-century stone gate) which spans over the former moat which has dried out.
Limoges and its international airport can be reached in about 25 minutes. A lovely village at 5 minutes has all amenities and has the advantage of having a train station.
To conclude: Thanks to a natural environment without any pollution, fine views, the high quality of the renovation work, this residence can be considered a small masterpiece of elegance, while retaining its robust and defensive aspects.
Let's dream a little and go back in time:
We are in the middle of the sixteenth century, on June 21st. Today, the castle's silhouette is cut out against a clear, blue background. The tambourines resound, the carts gather in the poultry-yard near the castle, the troubadours greet each other. The kitchen sends out spicy scents of a feast. The knights and the lord of the castle will soon arrive ...
Now it is up to you to take over and give free rein to your imagination.
600 m² of habitable surface (6458 sqFt)
15 hectares of land (37.07 acres)
